We all know that

employees, increase productivity and decrease absenteeism and turnover.
What is Communication for Work Purposes?
Workplace communication is the transmitting of information between one person or group and another person or group in an organization. It can include emails, text messages, voicemails, notes, etc. and it is very important to companies because it allows companies to be productive and operate effectively. Employees can experience an increase in morale, productivity and commitment if they are able to communicate up and down the communication chain in an organization.
History of Communication in Workplace
- Communication in workplace has evolved at speeds that were not even thought possible.
- Years ago, communication is limited to face- to-face interaction.
- Writing a letter to a certain person or people in a workplace is being practice until today because it is part of formality and/or norms in a company.
Negative side of Non-Digital Communication Types
- Face-to-face interaction is not always a reasonable method of communicating over long distances.
- Paper notes or methods have to be left for someone and utilize man power to deliver them.
- Mail takes a long time to reach it's destination and doesn't allow a company to react quick enough to situations.
Advantages
- It is easier for a smaller business to get their name out there and recognized
- Information is easily shared
- Records are easy to keep consumers can give favorable reviews of company through social media.
Disadvantages
- Markets are no longer a familiar zone. Cultural Customs come into play
- Not being on time for a meeting maybe an insult
- Businesses may get lost in the clutter of the internet
- Records can be corrupted, lost, and compromised without proper protection such as Firewalls.
Long Distance Communication
is used to describe communication that takes place between people who are far apart.
Advantages of Long Distance Communication
- Communication can be almost instant. Time is money!
- Allows the best of the best to be utilizes groups that span the globe.
- Markets are no longer limited by geography
Electronic Communication Privacy Act (ECPA) was passed in 1986 to expand and revise deferral wiretapping and electronic eavesdropping provisions. It was envisioned to create “a fair balance between the privacy expectation of activities and the legitimate needs of law enforcement. Congress also sought to support the creation of new technologies by assuring consumers that their personal information would remain safe. Electronic Communication Privacy Act lays out guidelines for law enforcement to access data. Under the stored communications Act, the government is able to access many kinds of stored communications without a warrant. CPA does include important provision that protect a person’s wire and electronic communication from being intercepted by another private individual. In general, the statute bars wiretapping or electronic eavesdropping, possessions of wiretapping or electronic eavesdropping equipment and the use or disclosed of information unlawfully obtained through wiretapping or electronic eavesdropping.
